Emergency Medicine
Dr. Brown has been practicing emergency medicine in Western New York since 1989 and is board certified in emergency medicine. Dr. Brown previously served as an Attending Emergency Physician at Sisters of Charity Hospital and St Joseph’s Hospital from 1989 – 2003 before assuming the position as Chief of Emergency Medicine at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital in Lewiston NY and medical director of nine of the volunteer ambulance companies in Niagara County from 2003 – 2017. Dr. Brown transferred to Kenmore Mercy Hospital as the Associate Medical Director of the ED from July 2017 – January 2020.
Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Dr. Brown started his undergraduate education at The University of the West Indies, and completed his degree in biology at Howard University, in Washington, D.C. He received his medical degree from SUNY at Buffalo School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at The University of Buffalo Affiliated Hospitals.
He is very active in the community, having served on board of trustees for Mount St. Mary’s Hospital. He is co-founder, with his wife Dr Curlane Jones-Brown, of the S.E.N.S.E.S Foundation, a 501c3 Non-Profit organization, which is a comprehensive tutoring and mentoring after school program targeting youth and young adults. He is practicing as an attending ER Physician in the Emergency Department of Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
