Melissa Archer has been a leader in healthcare and the community with over 20 years of experience in the Buffalo community. Melissa is the Co-Founder of the Black Women’s Wellness Village (BWWV). She has a deep commitment to the health and wellness of individuals, families, and communities. Melissa is a fierce supporter of self-care and coping strategies to “bring down the temperature” of our everyday struggle to live and thrive. Her practice in and out of the office is helping others find the BEST version of themselves every day.

Melissa is a graduate of D’Youville University, holding a Masters in Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Daemen University and an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing from Trocaire College. Melissa received the Black Achievers Award in 2023. Melissa was recently awarded the Distinguished Trocaire Alumni Award and the NAACP Presidential Award. She is the Governance Chair of Sigma Theta Tau, an international honor nursing society.

She is a board member of Mental Health Advocates of WNY Board of Directors and is an Open Buffalo Emerging Leader Graduate. In addition, she is the Vice President of the Buffalo Chapter of Girl Friends, Inc. Melissa was born, raised, and lives in the Buffalo area. Melissa is the proud wife of Dr. Fred D. Archer III, mother of three wonderful children and grandfur mother of nine wonderful grandfur babies.
